Cookie Policy

This page explains which cookie categories ClickVPN uses on the marketing website, what Google Analytics does when you opt in, and how you can change or withdraw consent.

Overview

ClickVPN uses strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep the website, account portal, authentication flows, locale routing, consent choices, and display preferences working safely. On marketing pages only, we may also use Google Analytics after you explicitly opt in. Analytics stays off until that choice is granted.

Cookie categories

Strictly necessary technologies cover security, fraud prevention, session continuity, authentication flow protection, language routing, theme display, and consent storage. These technologies remain active because the site and account portal cannot operate safely without them. Analytics cookies are optional. When enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga, _ga_*, _gid, _gat, and _gac_* to measure page visits, sign-up intent, and pricing interest on marketing pages. ClickVPN does not enable advertising, remarketing, ad personalization, or ad user data sharing in this setup.

Current cookie and browser storage inventory

Current first-party cookies and browser storage may include: NEXT_LOCALE for locale routing; Kratos-managed authentication, session, and CSRF cookies such as ory_kratos_session and csrf_token_*; kratos_session_token where the web proxy compatibility flow is present; cvpn_pending_totp for temporary second-factor state; clickvpn_cookie_consent in localStorage for consent version, analytics choice, and update time; clickvpn.theme in localStorage for theme preference; clickvpn-auth-sync-event in localStorage for short-lived cross-tab authentication sync; kratos-recovery-progress and promo_activation_v1 in sessionStorage for recovery or promo flows. Exact presence depends on whether you are signed in, using account flows, changing settings, or visiting marketing pages.

Google Analytics

ClickVPN loads Google Analytics only after you accept analytics cookies. Before consent, Google Analytics scripts do not load and analytics cookies are not created. If you later withdraw consent, ClickVPN disables further analytics events and removes Google Analytics cookies on a best-effort basis for the current domain.

How to change or withdraw consent

You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer on marketing pages at any time. Choosing Reject non-essential or saving settings with analytics turned off will withdraw analytics consent for future visits and current page activity.

International users and Google disclosures

Where consent is legally required, ClickVPN asks for analytics consent before optional cookies are used. When analytics is enabled, Google may receive limited information about your interaction with marketing pages, such as page URLs, page titles, and click events tied to sign-up or pricing intent.

Changes to this policy

ClickVPN may update this Cookie Policy when our website behavior, legal requirements, or vendor setup changes. The latest version and effective date will stay on this page.
