Why open Wi-Fi deserves extra care

Public Wi-Fi is built for convenience, not privacy. Traffic passes through an access point that someone else configured, on a network shared with strangers. Even with HTTPS everywhere, plenty of metadata leaks in the open: which sites you resolve over DNS, when, from which device, and captive portals frequently inject their own pages into your session.

A VPN closes that gap at the network level. Your device builds one encrypted tunnel and everything travels inside it — web, apps, DNS lookups. The hotspot still moves your bytes, but it can no longer read or reshape them. ClickVPN resolves DNS through its own infrastructure, so the coffee shop's resolver never sees your lookups at all.
